Virat Kohli Biopic Anurag Kashyap Rejection Shocks Bollywood Fans

Virat Kohli biopic Anurag Kashyap rejection

Virat Kohli biopic Anurag Kashyap rejection has surprised both cricket and cinema lovers. Kohli is one of the most admired sports icons in the world, and a biopic on his life could attract global attention. Yet, director Anurag Kashyap recently revealed why he is not interested in making the film.

Kashyap explained that while Virat Kohli’s life is inspiring, he does not see enough cinematic depth to turn it into a movie. “I’m not sure if I’d want to make it because he’s already a hero to many kids. If I choose to do a biopic, I’d want it to be about a difficult life story,” Kashyap told Filmygyan while promoting his new film Nishaanchi.

The Virat Kohli biopic Anurag Kashyap rejection created buzz because Kohli’s life does have emotional moments. At just 18, he lost his father while playing a Ranji Trophy match but still continued to bat. Later, he fulfilled his promise to his brother to play for India. Beyond cricket, Kohli and his wife Anushka Sharma co-founded SeVVA, a charity helping animals, children, and senior citizens.

Kashyap praised Kohli as an authentic and emotional person but believes a film requires struggle beyond admiration. His decision highlights the difference between real-life heroism and the drama needed in cinema.

For now, the focus remains on Kohli’s cricket. He is training in London ahead of India’s ODI series against Australia, while Kashyap is promoting Nishaanchi.

The Virat Kohli biopic Anurag Kashyap rejection story shows how even great achievements may not always translate into a strong movie script.
