UAE Traffic Alert: Accident on Emirates Road Near Dubai–Al Ain Bridge Triggers Heavy Delays

Motorists across the UAE faced significant delays after a traffic accident on Emirates Road near the Dubai–Al Ain Bridge caused congestion during peak travel hours, authorities confirmed.

The collision occurred on a busy stretch of the highway, one of the country’s main arterial routes linking Dubai with Sharjah and other northern emirates. Emergency services and traffic patrols were dispatched to the scene shortly after the incident was reported. As a result, several lanes were temporarily affected while responders worked to manage the situation and clear the roadway.

Drivers reported long queues forming in both directions, with traffic slowing to a crawl as vehicles were diverted or reduced to fewer open lanes. Authorities urged motorists to exercise caution, reduce speed, and follow instructions from on-site personnel. Alternative routes were recommended for those heading toward Dubai or Al Ain to ease congestion.

No official confirmation has yet been issued regarding injuries, but officials said investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the accident. Tow trucks were deployed to remove damaged vehicles, and traffic flow gradually improved once clearance operations were completed.

The incident once again highlights the importance of safe driving practices, particularly during high-traffic periods. Police reminded motorists to maintain safe following distances, avoid sudden lane changes, and remain alert at all times on major highways.

Traffic authorities also encouraged drivers to use navigation apps and official traffic updates to stay informed about road conditions before setting out. As traffic volumes continue to rise across the UAE, officials stressed that cooperation from motorists is key to minimizing disruptions and ensuring road safety.

Normal traffic conditions were largely restored later, though residual delays persisted for some time as congestion eased.
