UAE Smartphone Sales Rise: 20%–30% Price Drops Give Big Boost

UAE smartphone sales trend is showing strong momentum as shoppers rush for last year’s models at 20% to 30% lower prices. The demand for discounted mid-range and flagship smartphones is driving overall sales growth across the Gulf region.

The smartphone market in the UAE had a slow start in early 2025, but sales are now picking up. Retailers confirm that previous models like the iPhone 15 and Samsung Galaxy S24 are selling strongly due to aggressive promotions, installment plans, and back-to-school offers. The average listed price for iPhone 15 versions is around Dh2,499–Dh2,999, making them more attractive to value-conscious buyers.

At the same time, new launches such as the Samsung Galaxy Z7 Fold, Huawei Pura 80, and Honor Magic V5 are targeting premium buyers with advanced AI features and slimmer foldable designs. Yet, the UAE smartphone sales trend shows that mid-priced and discounted devices are seeing the biggest jump in volume.

Canalys data reveals that Middle East smartphone shipments (excluding Turkey) grew 15% year-on-year to 13.2 million units in Q2-2025, making it the fastest-growing region worldwide. Analysts credit this rebound to festive season spending during Eid, stronger economic conditions, and consumers looking for better value.

Samsung and Honor led shipments with high double-digit growth. Samsung gained from its Galaxy A series and S25 line, while Honor nearly doubled shipments compared with Q2 2024, with the GCC as a key growth driver.

Retailers expect this strong demand for last year’s smartphones to continue in the coming weeks, even with the upcoming Apple iPhone 17 launch in September. For budget-minded shoppers, 2024 models remain the smarter choice.
