UAE President highlights nation’s unity and strength on Day of Solidarity

Abu Dhabi — UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan marked the Day of Solidarity by praising the country’s steadfast spirit and collective determination as citizens remembered the anniversary of a deadly attack on Abu Dhabi.

In a message shared on social media, the president said the annual observance serves as a reminder of the enduring resilience of the UAE and the courage of its people. He stressed that the unity and resolve shown by residents help the nation face challenges, seize opportunities, and continue its progress toward a secure and prosperous future.

The Day of Solidarity commemorates the 2022 assault by Houthi militants on a fuel storage facility near Abu Dhabi International Airport, which resulted in civilian deaths and injuries. It has since become a national moment to reflect on collective strength and loyalty to the country.

Across the UAE, symbolic activities marked the occasion, including aerial displays and public gatherings that celebrated national unity. Leaders and officials used the day to emphasise shared values of cohesion, resilience, and commitment to the nation’s future.

Sheikh Mohamed’s message underlined that the spirit of solidarity helps reinforce national stability and drive ongoing efforts to enhance both security and prosperity for all.
