UAE Condemns Iranian Attack on the Saudi Wedyan tanker while it was passing through the Strait of Hormuz. The United Arab Emirates strongly denounced the incident and described it as a serious threat to international navigation. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) said the attack raises concerns about the safety of one of the world’s most important shipping routes.
In an official statement, the ministry said the attack is a dangerous escalation that could affect regional peace and stability. UAE Condemns Iranian Attack because it threatens commercial shipping and creates risks for global trade and energy supplies. The UAE also expressed full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and supported all measures to protect its vessels, national interests, and freedom of navigation.
The ministry stressed that the attack is a clear violation of UN Security Council Resolution 2817. It said the resolution highlights the importance of protecting freedom of navigation and rejects attacks on commercial vessels or any attempt to block international maritime routes.
The UAE further stated that using the Strait of Hormuz as a tool for economic pressure or blackmail is unacceptable. Such actions, the ministry said, directly threaten regional stability, global energy security, and the safe movement of international trade.
UAE Condemns Iranian Attack and called for protecting international shipping lanes from threats that could disrupt global commerce. The country reaffirmed its commitment to supporting efforts that ensure maritime security, maintain safe navigation, and preserve stability across regional and international waters.
