Twinkle Khanna admitted she was snobby about flop — referring to Akshay Kumar’s series of box office failures — and initially didn’t want to work with him.
In the latest episode of Two Much, hosted by Twinkle Khanna and Kajol, the couple opened up about the early days of their relationship. Twinkle shared that she only agreed to act opposite Akshay because her father insisted. “My dad had an old producer friend who said, ‘You have to work in this movie because I have given my word.’ I didn’t want to work with him at that point, but I did,” she revealed.
Twinkle explained that Akshay was “going through a bad phase,” and she was hesitant because of his continuous flops. Saif Ali Khan, who joined the conversation, quickly defended Akshay, saying, “You’ve always given some flops and then super hits, so who cares?”
Akshay Kumar also spoke about how meticulous Twinkle was before their marriage. Instead of depending on horoscope matching, she checked his family’s entire medical history before agreeing to marry him. “She traced everything in my family — my father, uncles, and aunts — to ensure there were no health issues,” he said.
On the show, Akshay described their relationship dynamics beautifully: “She is fire. I am water. She says whatever she wants to. I just keep myself calm and quiet. Do whatever you want, but listen. Every husband should be a good listener.”
