Veteran actor Suniel Shetty has weighed in on the acclaim surrounding the espionage thriller Dhurandhar, highlighting the strong work delivered by its lead cast. Speaking in an interview while promoting his latest project, Shetty offered his thoughts on the film’s storytelling and acting.
Shetty praised Dhurandhar director Aditya Dhar for balancing scale with emotional depth and noted that the movie’s sustained engagement stems from performances that favour restraint over flashiness.
When discussing the actors’ work, Shetty singled out Akshaye Khanna, describing him as phenomenal and rating his performance a perfect 10 out of 10. But it was Ranveer Singh who earned his highest praise. “Ranveer Singh is 100 out of 10,” Shetty said, emphasising how the star’s controlled, internalised portrayal elevated the film.
Shetty explained that playing a character driven by subtle emotional conflict — rather than overt heroics — is a difficult challenge, and he applauded Ranveer for delivering that with nuance.
Looking ahead, Shetty also expressed excitement about the next chapter of the franchise, imagining even greater heights for Ranveer’s character in Dhurandhar 2.
