Sulakshana Pandit passes away at the age of 71, leaving behind a remarkable legacy in Indian cinema and music. The veteran Bollywood actress and playback singer died on November 6, 2025, in Mumbai after a cardiac arrest. Her brother, music composer Lalit Pandit, confirmed the news and shared that she passed away while being taken to Nanavati Hospital.

Sulakshana Pandit passes away after a long illness, marking a sad moment for the film and music industry. Born on July 12, 1954, in Raigarh, Chhattisgarh, she came from a highly talented musical family. Her brothers are the composer duo Jatin-Lalit, and her uncle was the legendary classical vocalist Pandit Jasraj.

She began singing at the age of nine, performing a duet with Lata Mangeshkar for the film Taqdeer. Her hit song Tu Hi Sagar Hai Tu Hi Kinara from Sankalp (1975) made her a household name. Alongside her music career, Sulakshana also acted in popular films such as Dharam Kanta and Kasam Khoon Ki. She also worked in Bengali cinema, starring in Bandie (1978) with Uttam Kumar.
