Sisterhood in Beauty Pageants: A Real Bond Beyond the Crown

Sisterhood in beauty pageants is more than just a phrase it’s a powerful truth. For Dubai-based contestant Tasneem Raza, the myth of catfights and rivalry was shattered the moment she entered Miss Universe India.

At 42, and as a mother of two, Tasneem joined the competition expecting glam and pressure. What she found instead was sisterhood in beauty pageants—a strong bond that brought 51 women together in support, not in spite.

She recalls the sports day where she held a plank for over seven minutes. But what stayed with her wasn’t the record—it was how every other contestant cheered for her like it was their own win. That raw encouragement, Tasneem says, gave her goosebumps.

From hospital visits to late-night pep talks, the pageant became a space of shared strength. Fellow contestants helped her perfect her walk, rehearse lines, and boost her confidence. They laughed, cried, and lifted one another through each challenge.

Tasneem’s journey proves that pageant girls aren’t just rivals—they’re real friends. “We stood together like sisters,” she says, “not for the cameras, but from the heart.”

Beyond gowns and glitter, she found a tribe. A group of women who believed in unity, not competition.

Her experience is a reminder that the true crown is not just about winning—but about finding women who cheer for your victory like it’s their own.
