Shilpa Shetty Rs600 Million Fraud Case: Bombay High Court Denies Travel Plea

Shilpa Shetty Rs600 million fraud

Shilpa Shetty Rs600 million fraud case has taken a serious turn as the Bombay High Court has denied the Bollywood actor’s request to travel abroad. The court said Shilpa Shetty must first deposit Rs600 million before her travel plea can be considered.

The court made it clear that it will review her travel request only after the full amount is secured. The decision came as Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra are facing allegations of cheating a Mumbai-based businessman through their company, Best Deal TV Pvt Ltd.

According to the complaint, the funds meant for business expansion were allegedly diverted for personal use. The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) recently questioned Shetty for several hours as part of its ongoing investigation. Her husband, Raj Kundra, has also recorded statements in connection with the same case.

The Bombay High Court highlighted the seriousness of the financial fraud. And noted that the risk of flight cannot be ignored. Shetty’s lawyer argued that she needed to travel to Colombo for a professional event. But the court stood firm, stressing that legal accountability comes first.

Earlier, a Look Out Circular (LOC) was also issued to stop the couple from leaving India. This new court order makes it clear that Shetty’s overseas travel plans will remain on hold until she pays the required amount.

The Shilpa Shetty Rs600 million fraud case has now become one of Bollywood’s most high-profile legal battles. And adding more uncertainty to the actor’s international engagements and legal future.
