The Sharjah Ruler library fund worth AED 4.5 million has been announced by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah. The fund aims to help public and government libraries across the Emirate add new and important books to their collections.

The Sharjah Ruler library fund will include all titles featured at the 44th Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF). The event hosted more than 2,300 publishers and exhibitors from 118 countries, showcasing a wide range of literary and educational works. This initiative reflects Sheikh Sultan’s strong commitment to promoting education, culture, and reading across Sharjah and the UAE.

Sheikh Sultan’s decision supports the publishing industry and ensures that readers, students, and researchers have access to the latest and most valuable knowledge resources. His vision highlights the importance of libraries as centers of learning and enlightenment that nurture young minds and promote cultural progress.

Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Sharjah Book Authority, said that this generous act reflects His Highness’s belief in the power of libraries to inspire and educate future generations. She added that the grant helps publishers continue their creative work and enrich the region’s cultural and intellectual development.
