The Sharjah International Book Fair 2025 will be held from November 5 to 16 at Expo Centre Sharjah. Organised by the Sharjah Book Authority (SBA), this year’s theme, “Between You and a Book,” celebrates the strong bond between readers and the written word.
The Sharjah International Book Fair 2025 will bring together thousands of visitors, international publishers, authors, and translators. The event will highlight how books inspire knowledge, imagination, and creativity. It will also explore the deep connection between people and books through talks by global thinkers and creatives.
The Republic of Greece has been named the Guest of Honour for the 44th edition. Greece will present a programme focused on “edutainment,” featuring book signings, interactive workshops, and artistic performances. Visitors can enjoy intellectual forums, theatre shows, and social media sessions aimed at building cultural and educational bridges.
Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the SBA, said the fair reflects Sharjah’s role in promoting Arab culture and global knowledge. She added that books help readers discover themselves and act as bridges connecting different cultures.
Ahmed bin Rakkad Al Ameri, CEO of the SBA, said the fair continues Sharjah’s cultural mission under the vision of H.H. Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi. He noted that the event has evolved into a global knowledge industry that supports creativity and innovation.
By honouring Greece, the fair celebrates its cultural legacy and contributions to philosophy, science, and the arts. The programme will include rare manuscripts, discussions, and literary showcases that promote learning and cultural exchange.
