Shams Arabic Content Award continues to gain strong attention across the Arab world. Sharjah Media City (Shams) has officially announced the jury for the second edition of the award. The announcement reflects the growing value of the award in supporting high-quality Arabic media and creative work.
The jury includes respected names from the arts and media sector. They are Dr. Habib Ghuloom, artist and academic, Tarek El Shennawy, writer and film critic, Yara Sabri, actor, Malek Maktabi, broadcaster, and Ahmed Salem bin Samnouh, media expert. Their combined experience brings fairness, balance, and deep insight to the judging process.
The Shams Arabic Content Award has received wide participation this year. A total of 1,210 submissions were received from content creators across the Arab region. These entries were submitted across eight main categories. The categories include short films, podcasts, AI-generated content, unproduced screenplays, and awards for Best Actor and Best Actress. This variety highlights the richness of Arabic creativity today.
Rashid Abdullah Al Obad, Director General of Sharjah Media City, said the jury selection supports Shams’ goal of raising evaluation standards. He explained that strong expertise is essential due to the increase in competition and participation. He added that the jury will help ensure deserving works are recognized and creators are motivated to reach wider audiences.
Al Obad also noted that the award categories continue to evolve. This helps keep pace with rapid changes in the content industry and supports emerging Arab talent. Shams aims to remain a hub for media innovation and impactful projects.
The winners of the Shams Arabic Content Award will be honored at a special ceremony later this month. Shams continues to promote meaningful Arabic content and celebrate creative excellence in modern Arab media.
