Saudi-led task force Pakistan Navy carried out one of the biggest narcotics operations in the Arabian Sea, seizing drugs worth nearly $1 billion. The operation was conducted by Pakistan Navy Ship PNS Yarmook in coordination with the Saudi-led Combined Task Force (CTF) 150 under the Combined Maritime Forces (CMF).

According to an official statement, the Saudi-led task force Pakistan Navy seized over two tons of crystal methamphetamine and a smaller quantity of cocaine from two different sailboats within 48 hours. The total value of the seized narcotics exceeded $972 million.

On October 18, the PNS Yarmook intercepted the first dhow and discovered more than two tons of crystal meth worth $822.4 million. Less than two days later, the same crew intercepted another dhow and found 350 kilograms of methamphetamine valued at $140 million and 50 kilograms of cocaine worth $10 million.

Both vessels were identified as having no nationality, and their origins remain unknown. Royal Saudi Naval Forces Commodore Fahad Aljoiad praised the successful operation, calling it one of the most remarkable narcotics seizures in CMF history.

The Combined Maritime Forces — a 47-nation naval alliance including the United States — patrols over 3 million square miles of ocean. Their mission is to secure major shipping routes and prevent the smuggling of drugs and weapons across international waters.

This joint success highlights the strong cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi-led naval forces in ensuring maritime security and combating global drug trafficking.
