Rubu’ Qarn to Launch Second “Nawah” on July 19

Rubu’ Qarn Launches Second “Nawah

Sharjah, UAE – July 14, 2025 — Rubu’ Qarn for Creating Future Leaders and Innovators is set to launch the second edition of its science and technology program “Nawah” on July 19, continuing its mission to inspire youth across the UAE in the fields of innovation, research, and sustainability.

“Nawah,” which means “core” in Arabic, is an educational initiative led by Rubu’ Qarn’s Science and Technology department. It is designed to cultivate a culture of scientific exploration, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving among young Emiratis and residents aged 13–18. This year’s program builds on the success of its inaugural edition, introducing new modules in artificial intelligence, robotics, environmental science, and space exploration.

The launch event will take place at the Rubu’ Qarn headquarters in Sharjah and will feature interactive workshops, tech demos, and keynote sessions led by Emirati scientists, engineers, and industry experts. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage directly with mentors, ask questions, and take part in hands-on activities that make science accessible and exciting.

According to Rubu’ Qarn officials, the second edition of “Nawah” aims to equip participants with not only scientific knowledge but also the soft skills necessary for leadership and innovation in the 21st century. The program promotes teamwork, research ethics, and digital literacy while encouraging youth to develop solutions to real-world challenges.

A Platform for Future Innovators

“The return of ‘Nawah’ reflects our long-term commitment to nurturing a new generation of thinkers and creators,” said Sheikha Aisha Khalid Al Qasimi, Director of Rubu’ Qarn. “Through science and technology, we want to empower youth to explore their potential and contribute meaningfully to their communities and the nation’s future.”

The program will span over several weeks, culminating in a final project exhibition where participants will present their innovations to a panel of judges and the public. The top projects may receive additional mentoring support and opportunities to represent Rubu’ Qarn in regional science competitions.

Strategic Alignment with UAE Vision

“Nawah” is aligned with the UAE’s National Innovation Strategy and the Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park’s goals to foster a sustainable, knowledge-based economy. It complements the broader vision of Rubu’ Qarn, the first Emirati institution dedicated to shaping young minds through education, creativity, and civic responsibility.

Registrations for “Nawah 2.0” are already underway through Rubu’ Qarn’s official website. Organizers encourage students with an interest in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) to apply early, as seats are limited.

As the UAE continues to prioritize science and innovation, programs like “Nawah” are playing a vital role in bridging the gap between education and future industries. With its second edition, Rubu’ Qarn reaffirms its leadership in youth development and positions Sharjah as a hub for scientific excellence.
