Al Nassr had won all 10 opening matches. Wijnaldum’s late goal, 10 minutes before full time, ended that streak. The Dutch midfielder scored the first goal in the 16th minute with a curling shot. Saad Al Nasser avoided a red card when VAR changed it to a yellow.
Joao Felix equalised for Al Nassr just over a minute into the second half. Felix’s shot later deflected off Ronaldo, giving Al Nassr the lead. Ronaldo did not intend to score, but it still counts. This marks Ronaldo scores 957 goals in his career.
Wijnaldum scored again, netting Radi Al Otaibi’s cutback to secure a draw. Al Nassr tried hard to win but could not keep their 100 percent record.
Both Ronaldo and Felix now have 13 goals in 11 matches. This ties the best start of any Saudi Pro League season, previously achieved by Omar Al Somah and Gelmin Rivas. Al Nassr’s lead at the top may shrink to two points if Al Hilal wins on Wednesday.
