Ras Al Khaimah air taxi service will start by 2027. The emirate’s transport authority signed a major deal with Joby Aviation and Skyports. This plan will link Ras Al Khaimah with Dubai. Travel time will drop from over an hour by car to just 15 minutes by air.
The service is part of Ras Al Khaimah’s Comprehensive Mobility Plan 2030. Joby Aviation will provide electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. Skyports will build vertiport hubs, starting at Al Marjan Island. RAKTA will manage regulations and integration.
Joby’s air taxis will carry four passengers plus a pilot. They will travel at speeds of up to 321 kph with zero emissions. The service will make travel easier for residents and tourists. Ras Al Khaimah will become more connected and attractive for visitors. Key destinations include Al Marjan Island and Jebel Jais.
The Ras Al Khaimah air taxi project also supports the UAE’s vision for sustainable transport. It builds on Dubai’s plans, where Joby’s passenger flights are set to start in 2026. This new corridor will boost tourism, business, and innovation.
Ras Al Khaimah is setting a new example in advanced air mobility. The air taxi project reflects economic growth and a push for greener transport. By 2027, quick and eco-friendly flights between emirates will transform travel.
