At the 44th Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF 2025), the Qatar literary landscape took center stage as the country’s Ministry of Culture reaffirmed its commitment to promoting cultural dialogue and intellectual exchange in the Arab world. The participation reflected Qatar’s national strategy to strengthen cooperation and openness in global literary and cultural platforms.

The Ministry’s representative said that Qatar’s presence at international book fairs highlights its goal of building bridges between writers, publishers, and thinkers across regions. At its pavilion, the Ministry presented a vibrant display of Qatar’s publishing sector, featuring books on literature, science, philosophy, and culture. This showcased the country’s dedication to creativity, scholarship, and knowledge-sharing.

Among the key participants, Dar Alwatad Publishing House stood out for its wide range of titles, including literature, law, children’s books, and self-development works. Representatives Farah Mohsen and Bahy Fathallah praised the fair’s organization and energetic environment, describing the event as lively and inclusive.

Also featured was Qatar University Press (QUP), which presented several academic works reflecting the growing research output of the institution. Hamza, a representative from QUP, called SIBF “one of the best participations we’ve had in the Middle East,” noting their highlight — a geopolitics publication now used as a reference text for Qatar’s diplomatic master’s programs.

Through this participation, the Qatar literary landscape once again proved the country’s belief in culture as a bridge for dialogue and understanding. The showcase at SIBF 2025 underlined Qatar’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its presence in the global literary community.
