Umrah Pilgrims Face New Rules
No Umrah on tourist visa is now a strict rule for all travellers to Saudi Arabia. Pilgrims must apply for a proper Umrah visa through the official Nusuk platform. This step is meant to make the journey smooth and well-organised.
Visa and Accommodation Linked
Accommodation booking is tied to the visa application. Pilgrims must either reserve an approved hotel through the Masar system or register the Saudi ID of the host family. Authorities will check all details on arrival.
Itinerary Cannot Change
The Umrah visa requires an uploaded travel plan. It cannot be postponed or extended. Overstaying or changing the return date brings heavy fines, starting from SAR 750 per pilgrim.
Transport Through Official Platforms
Hotels, taxis, buses, and trains are connected to the Masar system. Even taxis must be booked through authorised portals. The Haramain Express train is allowed transport, but it runs only until 9pm.
No Tourist Visa for Umrah
Pilgrims trying to use tourist visas may be stopped. Access to Riyaz ul Jannah in Madinah will not be allowed under a tourist visa. Agents also face penalties for such violations.
Strict Airport Checks
At Saudi airports, officials check hotel, transport, and return bookings. Missing records may result in fines or denial of travel.
Key Reminder
The new rules are clear: no Umrah on tourist visa and only official platforms must be used. Heavy fines apply for violations. Pilgrims are advised to follow the system to ensure a peaceful journey.
