Mohanlal Birthday Tribute takes centre stage on Asianet Middle East as fans celebrate one of Indian cinema’s finest actors on his birthday. Known for his unmatched versatility, Mohanlal has delivered unforgettable performances across Malayalam cinema for decades. To mark the celebration, Asianet Middle East is presenting a special 15-film lineup featuring some of his most iconic movies.

The special screenings begin with Vanaprastham on 19th May at 9.00 am UAE and 8.00 am KSA. The film follows Kunhikuttan, a Kathakali performer whose life is shattered after a forbidden relationship changes his future forever. Mohanlal delivers a deeply restrained and emotional performance in this powerful drama.

Later the same day, Kireedam airs at 1.30 pm UAE and 12.30 pm KSA. Directed by Sibi Malayil, the film tells the heartbreaking story of Sethumadhavan, an aspiring police officer whose life spirals after protecting his father from a gangster. The film remains a Malayalam cinema classic.

Mohanlal Birthday Tribute continues with Nadodikkattu on 20th May. Mohanlal and Sreenivasan play two unemployed friends trying to escape poverty by moving abroad, only to land in chaos and comedy. On the same night, Devasuram showcases Mohanlal as Neelakandan, a proud heir whose life changes after a shocking revelation.

Other highlights include Thenmavin Kombathu on 21st May, a romantic drama set in rural Kerala, and Spadikam on 22nd May, where Mohanlal shines as the rebellious “Aadu Thoma.” The celebration concludes with Kaalapani, a historical prison drama based on the horrors faced by freedom fighters during British rule.
