The Etihad Rail passenger service is set to transform how people travel across the UAE. The long-awaited rail system will officially begin passenger operations in 2026. It will connect major cities and remote regions with fast, comfortable, and reliable train journeys.

The Etihad Rail passenger service will link 11 stations nationwide, stretching from Al Sila near the Saudi border to Fujairah on the east coast. This marks a major step in the UAE’s transport development and supports easier daily travel between emirates.

Stations across the UAE

The network includes stations in Mohammed Bin Zayed City (Abu Dhabi), Jumeirah Golf Estates (Dubai), University City (Sharjah), and the Al Hilal area in Fujairah. Additional stations are located in Al Sila, Al Dhannah, Al Mirfa, Madinat Zayed, Mezairaa, Al Faya, and Al Dhaid. Stations will open in phases.

Routes and travel times

Trains will run at speeds of up to 200 km/h, cutting travel time by up to 40 percent.
Key journey times include:
Abu Dhabi to Dubai in 57 minutes.
Abu Dhabi to Al Ruwais in 70 minutes.
Abu Dhabi to Fujairah in 105 minutes.

Onboard experience

Each train can carry around 400 passengers. Facilities include Wi-Fi, charging points, entertainment, and food options. Trains offer Economy, Family, and First Class seating. Luggage storage is available in all cabins.

nol card and easy payments

Passengers will be able to pay using the nol card. This allows smooth connections with Dubai Metro, buses, and other public transport systems.

The Etihad Rail passenger service is expected to change daily commuting, tourism, and inter-emirate travel. It brings the UAE closer to a fully connected national rail future.
