Emirati Children’s Literature Showcase gained global attention as the Emirates Publishers Association (EPA) took part in the China Shanghai International Children’s Book Fair 2025. This event is one of the world’s most important platforms for children’s books. The EPA used this opportunity to highlight Emirati creativity and promote Arabic stories for young readers. The goal was to open new doors for cooperation and to build strong cultural exchange with Asian markets.
The EPA’s participation included strategic meetings with international publishing experts. Four member publishers joined the fair: Ajyaal Publishing House, Hayaza Personalized Books, Dal for Publishing and Distribution, and Sohub Publishing and Distribution. They explored new partnerships in rights sales, translation deals, and professional collaborations. This effort supports the growth of the Emirati publishing industry and strengthens its global presence.
His Excellency Rashid Al Kous, Executive Director of the EPA, said that the fair helps expand the UAE’s role in the international publishing scene. He explained that children’s books serve as cultural bridges, helping young readers understand different communities. He added that the Emirati Children’s Literature Showcase reflects the UAE’s commitment to promoting knowledge, supporting creative industries, and sharing Emirati stories with the world.
The EPA believes that connecting with fast-growing Asian markets creates new opportunities for Emirati publishers. It also supports the creative economy and strengthens the UAE’s position as a regional leader in literary innovation. This participation shows the country’s dedication to cultural dialogue, children’s books, and the future of global storytelling.
