Bollywood Critic Kamaal Rashid Khan Arrested After Firing at Mumbai Building

Controversial Bollywood critic and actor Kamaal Rashid Khan, popularly known as KRK, has been arrested by Mumbai Police in connection with a firing incident at a residential building in the city’s western suburbs. The arrest took place on January 24, 2026, following an investigation into gunfire reported earlier this month.

According to police reports, the incident occurred on January 18 at the Nalanda Society in Oshiwara, Andheri, where at least two bullets were found lodged inside the building — one on the second floor and another on the fourth. Both flats are reported to belong to a writer-director and a model.

Mumbai authorities say KRK was taken into custody late Friday night after investigators linked the recovered bullets to his nearby bungalow through forensic analysis. During questioning, he allegedly admitted to discharging rounds from his licensed firearm. Police have seized the weapon and registered a case under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Arms Act as the investigation continues.

No injuries have been reported in the incident so far. Officials are working to establish the exact motive behind the firing while continuing their probe into the circumstances surrounding the event.

KRK, known for his outspoken online film reviews and frequent controversies, has previously faced legal challenges and public criticism for defamatory social media posts targeting Bollywood personalities. His arrest adds to a series of legal entanglements that have marked his public life in recent years.

Authorities are expected to release more information as the case unfolds and the motive behind the firing becomes clearer.
