Sharjah Police have launched a new cybercrime awareness in Sharjah campaign to educate the public about online security risks. The campaign, under the slogan “Be Aware”, started at City Centre Al Zahia and will continue for three days.
Brigadier General Omar Ahmed Boualzoud, Director General of Criminal Security and Ports Affairs, said that while previous campaigns had positive results, new criminal methods appear every year. These methods often target residents and online users in the community.
The campaign highlights the dangers of transferring money to unknown accounts. Criminals often exploit such transfers to buy drugs and illegal items. By raising cybercrime awareness in Sharjah, the police aim to protect residents and reduce these crimes.
Collaboration with the Consumer Protection sector has been important in lowering cybercrime risks. The campaign will include educational sessions, awareness booths, and guidance on safe online practices. People are encouraged to stay alert while using social media and digital payment platforms.
Sharjah Police continue to focus on community safety. This campaign is part of ongoing efforts to inform the public about online threats and illegal activities. Residents are urged to report suspicious activity and follow safety advice.
Through this campaign, the police hope to strengthen public knowledge about cybercrime, prevent financial fraud, and ensure a safer digital environment for everyone.
