Abu Dhabi Core42 OpenAI models are now part of the Core42 cloud platform, giving enterprises in the region and beyond direct access to the latest AI technology. Core42, a sovereign cloud service provider under Group42 (G42), has officially added OpenAI’s new “open-weight” AI models to its services.
The models, including gpt-oss-20B and gpt-oss-120B, are available through the Core42 Compass API. According to Kiril Evtimov, CEO of Core42 and Group CTO of G42, this move allows organizations to select the right platform for scaling transformation, optimizing performance, and managing costs effectively.
With the addition of Abu Dhabi Core42 OpenAI models, businesses can run and adapt AI locally or in the cloud while enjoying full transparency, fine-tuning, and sovereign deployment options. Core42 highlighted that customers can now align their AI operations with performance, cost, and compliance requirements.
The company described this development as a pivotal step toward enterprise AI autonomy. “With open-weight access, businesses can shape AI to their unique needs and unlock innovation at scale,” Core42 stated. Its AI Cloud, powered by diverse silicon infrastructure, ensures high flexibility and performance for modern AI workloads.
This announcement follows G42’s recent expansions in the AI sector. The company has launched a 5GW US-UAE AI campus and the 1GW Stargate UAE facility as part of Phase 1 of a major project. In addition, Microsoft committed a \$1.5 billion investment in 2024, further strengthening G42’s global AI presence.
