The leak was reported around 10:45 AM at a well-frequented restaurant on the mall’s second floor. Shoppers described a sudden, pungent smell followed by widespread panic as several individuals began collapsing from dizziness and breathing problems.

The Kuwait Fire Service Directorate (KFSD) deployed hazmat units, fire brigades, and emergency medical teams within minutes. The affected area was sealed off, and over 150 people were evacuated safely. According to the KFSD, the gas leak was likely due to corroded pipeline fittings that had not undergone proper maintenance.
