A 7-year-old Indian girl dies in Sharjah after falling from her family’s third-floor apartment in Al Nabba on Monday morning. The child, Safa, was a Grade 2 student at a private school in Ajman and the only child of her parents.

Child Was Alone For Five Minutes

Safa was at home when the incident happened. Her mother, Murshida, was at work in Sharjah. Her father, Mubarak, had stepped outside to move the family car.

According to her uncle, Mansoor Ali, the father was away for about five minutes. The family believes Safa may have opened a sliding window while looking for her father outside.

Family Had Recently Returned From India

Safa’s family originally comes from Kerala. They have lived in the UAE for nine years.The family had recently returned from India after attending a wedding. Safa had spent time with her cousins during the celebration.

Her uncle said she was happy during the family gathering. She was also looking forward to returning to school after the summer break.The family is planning to bury Safa in the UAE.

Sharjah Police Investigating

Sharjah Police confirmed the incident to Khaleej Times. Police said their Operations Room received a report early Monday morning.

Emergency teams quickly reached the location. The child’s body was transferred to the forensic laboratory to determine the exact cause of death.Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Authorities said their initial assessment indicates that the death was accidental. They also confirmed that there was no criminal act involved.The investigation and related formalities are expected to take several days.

Family Left Devastated

The sudden death has left Safa’s family devastated. The tragedy happened shortly after what had been a joyful family celebration in India.

The incident also highlights the importance of child safety around apartment windows and other elevated areas.
