Emirates temporarily shuts first class check-in at DXB

Emirates

Emirates airline has temporarily closed its first-class check-in area at Dubai International Airport (DXB) for a major upgrade. The facility is scheduled to reopen in June 2025, offering passengers an exclusive and luxurious private lounge experience. The upgrade is part of Emirates’ ongoing efforts to enhance premium services.

During the renovation period, Emirates has arranged alternative check-in desks at Terminal 3. First-class passengers flying to the US can use desks 54-60, while those traveling to other destinations should proceed to desks 16-20. Passengers are encouraged to arrive early to avoid inconvenience.

Luxury Check-in Experience to Follow the Renovation

Upon reopening, passengers can expect a seamless and sophisticated check-in process. Emirates promises a more tranquil environment with personalized services. Travelers will arrive in chauffeur-driven cars, step through private doors, and relax on soft sofas while staff handle their check-in and luggage.

Emirates continues to refine its on-ground services to meet the expectations of high-value customers. Beyond luxury lounges, the airline provides expedited security, personal escorts, and exclusive boarding experiences for first-class passengers at DXB. These services are designed to offer maximum convenience and a seamless journey from check-in to departure.

Emirates Extensive Global Lounge Investments

Emirates continues investing millions in upgrading its premium lounges globally. At DXB Terminal 3, the airline operates seven lounges, including three for first-class, three for business-class, and the recently opened Emirates Lounge for all premium passengers.

In its 2024-25 financial report, the airline highlighted a Dh44 million investment. This included launching signature lounges at London Stansted and Jeddah airports and refurbishing the Paris Charles de Gaulle lounge.

Passenger Growth and Future Updates

Between April 1 and September 30, 2024, Emirates carried 26.9 million passengers, marking a 3% year-on-year increase. The airline reassured customers that further updates on the first-class check-in lounge reopening will be provided soon.

Passengers can look forward to an enhanced, world-class experience when the facility reopens.
