AP Dhillon and Diljit Dosanjh clash on social media

A heated exchange between music icons AP Dhillon and Diljit Dosanjh has captivated fans. It has sparked widespread discussions online. The drama began during a recent Chandigarh concert. Dhillon appeared to take a dig at Dosanjh, igniting a flurry of social media responses.

The feud traces back to an earlier comment by Dosanjh during one of his concerts. In a video shared on his Instagram, the “Amar Singh Chamkila” star extended best wishes to fellow artists. He reportedly hinted at AP Dhillon and Karan Aujla. Dosanjh said, “Mere aur do bhaiyon ne tour shuru kiya hai, unke liye bhi best of luck. Ye independent music ka time shuru hai. Museebatein toh ayengi. Jab koi revolution aata hai toh museebat aati hai. Hum apna kam karte jayenge.” (“Two of my brothers have started their tour; best of luck to them. The time for independent music has begun. Challenges will arise. When a revolution begins, obstacles follow. We will keep doing our work.”)

He further encouraged independent artists with an inspiring message. Dosanjh stated, “Jitne bhi independent artists hai, zor aur mehnat double kardo, Bharatiya sangeet ka samaye aagya hai. Pehle bahar ke kalakaar aate the unki ticket black hoti thi laakhon mein, ab Bharatiya kalakaar ki ticket black ho rahi hain. Isi ko toh kehte hai vocal for local.” (“All independent artists, double your effort and hard work. The time for Indian music has arrived. Earlier, foreign artists would sell tickets at exorbitant prices, but now Indian artists are achieving the same. This is what ‘vocal for local’ means.”)

During his Chandigarh concert, Dhillon seemingly responded to Dosanjh’s remarks. A viral video captured Dhillon alleging that Dosanjh had blocked him on Instagram. This claim quickly stirred fan speculation about a possible rift between the two stars.

Diljit Dosanjh response

In response, Dosanjh took to Instagram to address the claim. Sharing a screenshot of Dhillon’s account, he clarified, “I never blocked you. Mere pange sarkaaran naal ho sakde aa, kalaakaran naal nahi.” (“My issues might be with governments, not with artists.”)

Dhillon followed up with a video on Instagram showing Dosanjh’s account status before and after the alleged block. He captioned it, “I wasn’t going to say anything, knowing I’d get backlash anyway, but at least now we know what’s real and what’s not.”

The incident comes as both artists bask in the limelight of their thriving careers. Dhillon’s unique blend of Punjabi and Western music continues to make waves internationally. Meanwhile, Dosanjh is wrapping up the Indian leg of his Dil-Luminati Tour. His final performance in Guwahati is set for December 29.
