Warnings of red and yellow alerts have been issued in various areas of the UAE as a result of dense fog on Thursday morning. Today in the afternoon, there is a possibility of rain according to the National Centre of Meteorology.
The NCM warned residents that visibility will remain low until 9am today, especially in coastal and internal areas where it will decrease further.
Abu Dhabi Police urged drivers to be careful because of limited visibility caused by fog. Drivers have been advised to adhere to the varying speed limits shown on digital signage boards.
The speed limit on multiple roads in the capital was also decreased by the authorities to 80km/h. The roads mentioned are: Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Intl. road from Al Wahida Bridge to Al Ghwaifat, Sweihan road from Zayed Military City to Al Falah, Mohammed Bin Rashid road from Al Shahama Bridge to Al Falah, Maktoum Bin Rashid road from Seih Al Sedirah Tunnel to Kizad, and Mohammed Bin Rashid road from Seih Al Sedirah to Kizad.
Today’s weather is forecasted to be mostly clear with occasional clouds, and there is a chance of some isolated thunderstorms developing towards the east.
Humidity will result in fog or mist forming over certain coastal and internal areas in the morning. Gentle to moderate breezes will be present, occasionally picking up and leading to dusty conditions.
There will be calm seas in the Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea.
Some parts of the UAE will experience a decrease in temperatures to as low as 26°C, while internal areas could see temperatures rise as high as 49°C.
