The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has issued a yellow alert for Monday, August 5, due to rough seas and fresh northwesterly winds reaching up to 40 km/h.
The Arabian Gulf, particularly its western regions, is expected to experience waves up to 6 feet high. This warning, which began at 1 am and will last until 6 pm, advises caution for those planning outdoor activities.
The NCM issued similar alerts over the weekend, cautioning residents about the challenging weather conditions.
This morning, light rains were reported in Fujairah and Khor Fakkan. The NCM alerted residents about potential light rain over the eastern coast. Videos posted by Storm Centre show heavy drizzles and light showers across various parts of the UAE.
For today, UAE residents can expect partly cloudy to cloudy weather, with occasional dustiness. The eastern coast will see low clouds and a chance of convective cloud formation, potentially leading to light rainfall, particularly in eastern and southern regions by the afternoon.
Temperatures are forecasted to reach up to 40°C in Abu Dhabi and 41°C in Dubai. Humidity levels could drop to 15% in mountainous areas, while coastal areas and islands may experience humidity up to 80%.
Light to moderate winds, freshening at times, are expected to cause dust and sand across the country. The sea conditions will range from slight to moderate, becoming rough at times in the western Arabian Gulf and moderate to rough in the Oman Sea.
