Extra buses deployed for Eid Al Adha rush in Sharjah

Sharjah is preparing for a surge in travelers during the upcoming Eid Al Adha holidays. To ensure smooth commutes, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced a significant boost in inter-city bus services.

Get ready for a shorter wait! The RTA will be deploying a whopping 121 additional buses to handle the expected increase in passengers. These buses will operate a total of 4,800 journeys during the Eid break, which runs from Saturday, June 15th to Monday, June 18th.

Extended Hours, Frequent Departures

Planning your trip? The enhanced bus service will start early at 3:45 am and continue until late at 12:30 am. To manage peak travel times even more effectively, buses will run at a frequency of just 10 minutes apart.

Sharjah-Oman Route Gets a Boost

Travelers heading to Oman from Sharjah will also benefit from the increased services. Route No. 203 will see its first bus depart at a convenient 6:30 am, with a second option later in the day at 4:30 pm.

With a four-day workweek, public sector employees in Sharjah will enjoy a particularly long Eid break, totaling five days. This extended time off is likely to contribute to the anticipated rise in travel.
