Free parking announced in UAE for Eid Al Adha holidays

Authorities across four emirates have announced that most parking spaces will be free during the Eid Al Adha holidays. This gesture is set to benefit drivers in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and Ajman.

In Dubai, motorists will enjoy four days of free parking from Saturday, June 15, to Tuesday, June 18. However, this does not apply to multi-level parking terminals, which will remain paid.

Abu Dhabi has also confirmed that public parking will be free during the same period, from June 15 to 18. Additionally, the Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT) announced that passing through Darb toll gates will also be free of charge on these dates.

Sharjah authorities previously announced that public parking areas will be free from June 16 to 18. This exemption does not include the seven-day paid parking zones, identifiable by blue signs.

Ajman has followed suit, confirming that its parking spaces will be free from June 16 to 18, as per the Municipality and Planning Department.

The Eid Al Adha holidays for both the public and private sectors in the UAE will span from Saturday, June 15, to Tuesday, June 18. Public sector employees in Sharjah will enjoy a five-day holiday due to their four-day workweek, while their counterparts across the country will have a 4.5-day break, with Friday designated as a half-day.

Arafah Day, the holiest day in Islam, falls on June 15 (Dhul Hijjah 9), and the three-day Eid Al Adha holiday will be observed from June 16 to 18 (Dhul Hijjah 10 to 12). The holiday break will thus last for four days.
