Sharjah Launches Free Mental Health Care Etizan Mental Health Centre Offers Support—Here’s What It Includes

Sharjah introduces Etizan Mental Health Centre, a new free service for mental health care. Etizan Mental Health Centre is launched by the Sharjah Social Services Department to support patients under 60 years of age. It provides free treatment, counselling, and home care support. The aim is to improve quality of life and reduce mental health stigma in the community.

The centre offers psychotherapy, counselling, and psychological support using approved methods. It focuses on conditions like depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, OCD, and PTSD. The service also provides family support programmes. The goal is to improve emotional balance and help patients manage stress and daily life challenges in a safe environment.

The centre operates from the Elderly Care Home as a temporary location. It serves UAE nationals and permanent residents of Sharjah. Applicants must be under 60 years old. And Valid medical report is required for access. Referrals from health authorities are accepted. The Sharjah Social Services Department ensures fair access to free mental health services.

The initiative promotes awareness of mental health across society. It works to reduce stigma linked with mental illness in Gulf and Arab communities. The centre also runs prevention programmes and monitors patients regularly. It evaluates progress and updates treatment plans. Coordination with partner entities ensures integrated care and strong support for families and individuals.
