The iconic Dubai Fountain will host its final show on April 19 before closing for a major renovation. Situated next to the Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall, the fountain has long amazed visitors with synchronized water, light, and music performances. Now, it’s set for a five-month upgrade that promises to take the experience to the next level.
The extensive refurbishment will enhance the fountain’s choreography, lighting, and sound systems. As a result, daily shows will pause during the renovation. In addition, the popular abra rides on the fountain will also be suspended. These temporary closures aim to ensure a smoother and more captivating experience when the fountain reopens.
Dubai Mall has confirmed that the upgraded fountain is expected to resume full operations by October 2025. The renovation timeline is tight, but the goal is clear: to deliver an even more spectacular show for millions of future visitors.
Moreover, this transformation reflects Dubai’s ongoing commitment to innovation and world-class experiences. Mohamed Alabbar, Founder of Emaar, called the fountain “a reflection of Dubai’s soul”. He added, “As we elevate this iconic landmark, we continue to create experiences that connect people and inspire wonder.”
Over the years, the Dubai Fountain has become more than just a tourist attraction. It stands as a symbol of the city’s creativity and ambition. Once the renovation is complete, both residents and tourists can look forward to a reimagined fountain show that’s more immersive and awe-inspiring than ever.
