Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Yamahi, Speaker of the Arab Parliament, has urged the international community to take a firm and united stance against the ongoing genocide in Gaza.
He reaffirmed that the Non-Aligned Movement has consistently supported the Palestinian cause since its inception. This unwavering support, he noted, is rooted in a deep belief in the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, especially their right to establish an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.
Speaking at the 4th Conference of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, Al Yamahi made strong appeals for action against Gaza Genocide. He condemned the occupying entity for carrying out brutal massacres and a genocidal war against the Palestinian people. He also stressed the need to reject any plans or proposals aimed at displacing Palestinians from their ancestral land, calling such actions a clear violation of human rights and international law.
Furthermore, Al Yamahi expressed deep concern over the failure of the international community to protect Palestinians from daily attacks and extermination. He criticized the silence and inaction of global institutions, which he said have allowed the violence to continue unchecked. According to him, this failure has exposed the weaknesses of the global system in upholding justice and defending the rights of oppressed nations.
The Arab Parliament Speaker emphasized the importance of applying international law without exception. He called for the enforcement of international resolutions and the end of selective implementation, which he warned undermines the credibility of global justice mechanisms. His remarks came during a high-level conference held on the sidelines of the Inter-Parliamentary Union meetings, which brought together lawmakers from various countries.
In closing, Al Yamahi urged members of the Non-Aligned Movement to remain steadfast in their support for Palestine and to push for immediate international accountability.
