Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) reported that 6.39 million passengers used its transport services during the Eid Al Fitr holidays. The figures cover public transport, taxis, and shared mobility services from March 30 to April 1.

Among the busiest services, the Dubai Metro carried 2.428 million riders across the Red and Green Lines. Meanwhile, the Dubai Tram transported 111,130 passengers. Public buses also played a crucial role, serving 1.33 million commuters.

Marine transport services remained popular, recording 408,991 boardings. Taxis, including Dubai Taxi and franchise operators, served 1.687 million passengers. Additionally, shared mobility services saw 429,616 rides, covering e-hail vehicles, hourly rentals, and on-demand buses.

The RTA attributed the high ridership to efficient service planning and increased demand during the festive period. Authorities ensured smooth operations to accommodate the surge in travelers.

Dubai continues to enhance its transportation network with innovative solutions. Soon, self-driving taxis will become a reality. The RTA has strengthened partnerships with autonomous driving technology providers. These AI-powered taxis are expected to launch by 2026.

RTA’s commitment to smart mobility aligns with Dubai’s vision for a futuristic transport system. The authority remains focused on expanding services, improving efficiency, and embracing sustainable solutions.

With rising passenger numbers, Dubai’s public transport continues to evolve. The city’s seamless connectivity ensures convenience for residents and visitors alike.

As new technologies emerge, Dubai is positioning itself as a leader in smart transportation. Future projects aim to enhance safety, reduce congestion, and promote eco-friendly transit options.

Dubai’s public transport network will keep growing to meet the city’s dynamic needs. Commuters can expect more advancements in the coming years.
