On Friday, Mumbai Police detained a suspect in connection with the stabbing of Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan at his Bandra residence. The suspect was brought to the Bandra Police Station for questioning.
Earlier, authorities reported recovering part of the blade removed from Saif’s back. Efforts continue to locate the remaining portion. The suspect was last seen near Bandra Railway Station. Police believe he boarded a morning local train toward Vasai-Virar. Consequently, search operations are underway in Vasai, Nalasopara, and Virar areas.
Details of the Incident
The stabbing took place around 2:30 a.m. on Thursday at Saif Ali Khan 11th-floor Bandra flat. An intruder allegedly confronted the actor’s maid. When Saif intervened, the situation escalated, resulting in multiple stab wounds.
Saif was rushed to Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital, where doctors performed emergency surgery. He sustained a severe thoracic spinal cord injury, with a 2.5-inch blade lodged in his spine. This caused a spinal fluid leak, but the surgery successfully removed the knife.
Current Status
Doctors confirmed Saif is out of danger but remains under close observation in the ICU. His recovery is being carefully monitored.
Mumbai Police have registered an FIR and recorded a statement from Saif’s maid, who witnessed the attack. Investigations continue as authorities work to apprehend the perpetrator and uncover the motive behind the assault.
