Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan is recovering at Lilavati Hospital, Mumbai, after being attacked during a home invasion. The incident occurred at his Bandra residence, where he lives with his wife, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and their children.
According to doctors, Saif sustained six stab wounds, two of which are deep and dangerously close to his spine. Hospital COO Dr. Niraj Uttamani shared details in a statement:
“Saif Ali Khan was brought to us at 3 a.m. He had injuries caused by sharp objects, including knives. We detected one deep wound near his spine, and a foreign object nearby. He is currently undergoing surgery.”
How the Attack on Saif Ali Khan Happened
The violent incident occurred early Thursday morning at the “Satguru Sharan” building in Bandra. According to Mumbai Police, an argument erupted between the intruder and the actor’s maid. Saif intervened to calm the situation but was attacked during the scuffle.
The intruder turned aggressive and stabbed Saif multiple times. The attack also injured a female staff member. The assailant fled the scene after the commotion alerted other house occupants.
Investigation and Search for the Attacker
The police have launched a full investigation and are actively searching for the intruder. Deputy Commissioner of Police Dixit Gedam stated, “The actor and the attacker had a scuffle. Our investigation is ongoing.”
Kareena Kapoor Khan’s representatives confirmed that Saif is undergoing surgery. They assured fans that the family is safe.
“Saif Ali Khan is receiving medical care. There was no harm to the rest of the family,” their statement read.
Saif’s PR team described the incident as an attempted burglary. They requested privacy, stating, “This is a police matter. Please be patient.”

Politician Clyde Crasto from the Nationalist Congress Party questioned the city’s security measures. “If celebrities face such risks, what about common citizens?” he asked on X (formerly Twitter).
Actor Pooja Bhatt expressed similar worries, saying, “Bandra has never felt so unsafe. This incident is deeply troubling.”
Meanwhile, police have increased patrols in the area and are investigating the case thoroughly.
