The Executive Council of the Emirate of Sharjah held its weekly meeting today, chaired by His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, and Chairman of the Executive Council, with the participation of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Vice Chairman of the Executive Council. The meeting took place at the office of His Highness the Ruler.
During the meeting, held on Tuesday morning, the council discussed several topics listed on the agenda concerning the progress of government operations in the emirate, the development of infrastructure services, and the follow-up on developmental projects across various sectors.
In line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, the council approved the implementation of the first phase of the Middle Line Project for rainwater and groundwater drainage. This phase involves extending the main drainage line over a distance of 4.9 kilometers, with a depth of 20 meters, at an estimated cost of AED 400 million.
The project includes the construction of two pumping stations in the Al Soor and Al Ghubaiba areas, as well as the installation of key pipelines to connect existing networks with the pumping stations. Additionally, the project will establish 11 inspection chambers and will link 13 areas and 5 main roads.
The council issued a resolution promoting Fahad Ahmed Al Khameeri, Director of the Registration and Licensing Department, to the position of Director of a Department under the Special Jobs System in the Sharjah Government. He has been appointed as Director of the Department of Economic Development in the Emirate of Sharjah.
The council also passed a resolution regulating real estate development projects. The resolution includes several legal provisions governing all aspects of real estate projects, most notably the establishment of escrow accounts to safeguard the rights of all parties involved. The resolution will take effect on May 1, 2025.
Furthermore, the council approved the formation of the Higher Medical Committee for Retirement in the Emirate of Sharjah, chaired by Dr. Abdulaziz Saeed bin Butti Al Muhairi, with the following members:

2. Dr. Fatima Mohammed Al Khameeri, Consultant Forensic Physician
3. Saeed Sultan bin Khadim, Head of Legal Support Department
4. Yousef Obaid Al Tunaiji, Director of Subscriptions Department
5. Nada Hassan Al Raisi, Administrative Expert
6. Mahra Sultan Shataf, Subscription Auditor, and Committee Rapporteur
The council also approved the extension of the 50% discount on industrial licenses for one more year. This initiative aims to promote the significant growth of the industrial sector in the emirate, where the number of issued licenses has increased by 16%, thanks to the investment-friendly environment and economic incentives provided by the Sharjah Government to stimulate and enhance diverse, advanced industrial activities.
