Emirates Journalism Award unveiled with new strategy

Dubai: The UAE Journalists Association has announced a four-year strategy (2025-2028) marked by the launch of the Emirates Journalism Award. The award aims to recognize excellence in media, featuring three categories:

Inspiring Media Personality – Celebrating individuals shaping the UAE’s media landscape.
Innovative Media Foundation – Recognizing organizations transforming content presentation.
Silver Pen Award – Honoring exceptional journalism that addresses critical issues with creative solutions.
The strategy was unveiled during a press conference in Dubai, attended by key officials including the Association’s chairperson, Fadila Al Muaini. The initiative coincides with the Association’s 25th-anniversary celebrations in January 2025, underscoring its role in supporting press freedom and fostering informed discourse.

A new state-of-the-art headquarters, built with the support of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, will serve as a creative hub for journalists. Additionally, the Association will enhance its digital presence with an upgraded platform under the theme “The Story of the UAE,” showcasing the nation’s media journey.

The launch of the Media Innovation Centre aims to foster media initiatives, integrate AI, and offer professional programs like Toastmasters. The Association also focuses on empowering young journalists, promoting national identity, and equipping students with skills to counter misinformation in the digital age.

This comprehensive strategy reflects the UAE’s commitment to advancing media and nurturing future generations of journalists on both national and international stages.
