Malaika Arora’s father Anil Arora dies in suspected suicide

Anil Arora, the father of Bollywood diva Malaika Arora, on Wednesday allegedly took his own life by jumping from the sixth floor of a residential building in Bandra, Mumbai.

According to Indian media reports, senior police officers were spotted at her residence following the incident along with her former husband, Arbaaz Khan. The body of the deceased was dispatched for a post-mortem examination, and an inquiry is currently in progress.

“Anil allegedly jumped from the terrace of his residence in Bandra,” the police said.

The motive behind the suicide remains unclear as an investigation is underway. However, people close to Malaika have suggested that it was an accident. They mentioned, “It’s an accident. We will share the details once we receive it.”

Malaika’s parents, Joyce Polycarp and Anil Arora separated when she was 11 years old. In a past interview with Filmfare, the diva talked about her relationship with her parents, revealing how the separation deeply affected her and her younger sister Amrita, who was only six at the time.

Malaika opened up about how their mother played a role in their upbringing. Reflecting on those difficult times, she remarked, “I had a childhood but it wasn’t without its challenges. When I think back, I would describe it as a ride. However, challenging circumstances impart invaluable knowledge.

The actress attributed her strong work ethic and understanding of financial independence to her mother.

“My parents splitting up gave me a new perspective on my mother. I discovered the significance of having a strong work ethic and the importance of achieving independence. The initial teachings serve as the basis for my life and profession. She shared that she still values her independence and lives life on her own terms.”
