Mohamed Salah hints at leaving Liverpool

Mohamed Salah suggested that this could be his last season at Liverpool after scoring his 15th goal against Manchester United in a convincing 3-0 victory for the away team at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Salah’s contract at Anfield will expire in less than a year, and he mentioned that there have been no talks with the club about extending his agreement.

The Egyptian player made history with English giants by scoring 214 goals since he joined in 2017.

Salah told Sky Sports that he had a great summer and spent a lot of time alone trying to remain optimistic since it’s his final year at the club.

I simply want to have fun and not worry about it. I feel like I have the freedom to play football and we’ll see what happens in the coming year.

Salah created two goals for Luis Diaz before increasing his tally as the leading goalscorer in matches between United and Liverpool by finding the net for the seventh game in a row at Old Trafford.

He stated that he was heading to the game, acknowledging it may be his final time playing at Old Trafford.

I haven’t been approached by anyone in the club regarding contracts. The decision is not mine to make, it belongs to the club.

Salah agreed to a three-year contract in 2022 that allegedly made him the highest earning player in the club’s past, amounting to over £18 million ($24 million) annually.

However, he has continuously been associated with a highly profitable transfer to the Saudi Pro League.

One year ago, it was reported that Liverpool turned down a £150 million offer from Al-Ittihad.

The 32-year-old is not the only Liverpool player with expiring contracts this season, as captain Virgil van Dijk and Trent are also in the same situation.

Nevertheless, things are going smoothly on the field for the Reds with new coach Arne Slot making a calm beginning to the challenging job of filling Jurgen Klopp’s shoes.

Liverpool has won their initial three Premier League matches without allowing a goal, putting them in second place behind Manchester City based on goal difference.

The outcome is fantastic. Salah added that it is widely recognized how crucial it is for both the city and the fans, as well as for the manager who is experiencing his first game here.

“We are overjoyed with the outcome.” If you aim to compete in the league, you must win this type of game. I’m happy that we were able to secure the victory.

The manager prefers us to apply high pressure. We managed to score in every one of those circumstances.

There isn’t a significant change from Jurgen initially and over time we have tweaked the system slightly in how we approach the game. “We are adjusting.”
