No more running back to your car when your parking meter is about to run out. Now all it takes is a few clicks on your cell phone and you can add money to your parking meter online. They don’t even charge you the 30 fils for SMS usage, and you can renew your parking time all through the cell phone application.
Now with this upgrade, there’s no fear of having to run back to your car to avoid a ticket or parking over time. Here’s a quick guide on how to use the Digital Sharjah app to manage your parking fees;
Step-by-Step Process for Paying Public Parking in Sharjah:
Download and Sign In: The first is the Digital Sharjah app, which is available on iTunes and the Android market. Once downloaded, sign in using your UAE Pass, which securely links your identity to the app.
Access the Parking Service: Go to the “Transport” category and then click on the “Pay Public Parking Fees” service. Tap ‘Proceed to Service’ to continue.
Enter Car Details: Click on the sign in the top right corner and enter your car’s license plate number. Your car details will appear a lot, that app is tied to your Emirates ID and UAE Pass.
Select Parking Zone: Choose your parking zone—either Sharjah or Khor Fakkan—based on your location.
Choose Parking Duration: Select how long you need to park. It will be some sort of app and you will have to pay for parking based on how long you spend.
Make the Payment: Pay the rest on a credit/debit card, or even a phone wallet. A confirmation SMS will be sent once your payment is successful.
How to Extend Your Parking Time
If you’re worried about your parking time running out, the app’s built-in timer helps you keep track. To extend your parking time:
- Open the parking ticket displayed on the app’s homepage.
- Tap on ‘Change Zone or Extend Parking’.
- Select one hour, two hours, three hours, four hours or five hours and pay.
Parking Timings in Sharjah
Paid parking in Sharjah is enforced from Saturday to Thursday, between 8:00 AM and 10:00 PM. Parking is free on Fridays and public holidays, except in areas marked with blue information signs where regular parking fees apply every day, including holidays.
