Sharjah ruler approves new salary, job grades plan

Sharjah ruler

In a major development, the Ruler of Sharjah has approved a new salary scale for government employees.
His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi made the announcement to enhance public sector growth and employee satisfaction.

The new structure includes two additional job grades — Special A and Special B.
Moreover, a fixed four-year tenure now applies to each job level across all departments.

As a result, the initiative aims to boost job security and support steady career growth for Emirati nationals.
It also creates clearer paths for promotion and encourages long-term commitment within the government sector.

Additionally, Emirati engineers will benefit from a revised salary scale.
This includes the introduction of a new Special grade and updated job titles specific to engineering roles.
Like others, engineers will also follow the four-year duration rule in each job level.

Speaking on the development, Abdullah Ibrahim Al Zaabi, Head of the Human Resources Department, shared key implementation details.
He said the department will begin enforcing the directives after coordination with relevant government entities.

He added, “These new grades are meant to motivate employees to work harder and aim higher in their careers.”

Previously, employees who reached the first grade waited several years for promotion.
Now, with Special grades added beyond the first, high performers can move up faster.

In conclusion, the updated salary structure reflects Sharjah’s dedication to strengthening its public sector.
It also highlights the Ruler’s commitment to creating a more rewarding and stable work environment.
