UAE

The UAE is now the world’s second safest country in 2025, according to a global survey by Numbeo. The country, home to over 200 nationalities, scored 84.5 points on the Safety Index. This ranking highlights the UAE’s strong security and exceptional quality of life.

Andorra, a small nation between France and Spain, secured the top position with 84.7 points. It narrowly surpassed the UAE by just 0.2 points.

Gulf Nations Lead Global Safety Rankings

Gulf countries continue to rank higher than major Western nations. Qatar claimed third place with 84.2 points, while Oman secured the fifth spot with 81.7 points. Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia ranked 14th with 76.1 points, followed by Bahrain in 16th place with 75.5 points. Kuwait secured 38th place with 67.2 points.

In South Asia, Pakistan ranked 65th with 56.3 points, while India followed closely in 66th with 55.7 points. Nepal secured 47th place with 63.3 points, while the Philippines ranked 63rd with 56.9 points.

Western nations placed much lower in the rankings. The United Kingdom ranked 87th with 51.7 points, while the United States secured 89th place with 50.8 points.

UAE’s Strong Performance in Global Indices

The UAE has also improved its position in the World Happiness Index. It now ranks 21st, surpassing countries like the UK, the US, Germany, and France. Back in 2020, the UAE became the only country with three cities among the world’s top 10 safest. Abu Dhabi ranked second, Dubai sixth, and Sharjah seventh, according to a global crime index.

Meanwhile, Dubai is gaining global recognition as a food hub. A recent travel survey ranked it the fourth most popular food destination on social media, surpassing Sydney, Chicago, and Paris.
