Champions Trophy: India-Pakistan match tickets sold in minutes

Champions Trophy

Tickets for the highly-anticipated India-Pakistan Champions Trophy match sold out within minutes on Sunday after the ICC released additional passes. This rapid sell-out quickly surpassed the previous record, highlighting the enormous demand for the iconic cricket rivalry.

Notably, the new batch of tickets became available at 12 PM on the ICC’s official website. Along with the India-Pakistan clash, additional tickets were also released for India’s three group-stage matches and the first semi-final.

At the time of publishing, tickets for India’s opening match against Bangladesh on February 20 remain available. Meanwhile, some tickets for India’s March 2 match against New Zealand are still on sale. Additionally, limited tickets for the first semi-final on March 4, starting at Dh300, can still be purchased.

Champions Trophy in Dubai

Moreover, the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy Final will take place on Sunday, March 9, in Dubai. However, tickets for the final will only be released after the first semi-final concludes.

For fans who missed out on securing tickets, several venues across Dubai will offer live screenings of the much-awaited showdown.

Previously, when the initial ticket sale opened on February 3, passes for India’s matches and the semi-final sold out in less than an hour. As a result, many fans were left disappointed, while resellers took advantage of the demand by offering tickets at up to seven times their original price.

Furthermore, the buzz surrounding the India-Pakistan match has significantly impacted travel costs. Airfares to Dubai have already surged ahead of the game. Travel experts predict a 20-50% increase in bookings, with last-minute fares potentially doubling.

In December 2024, the International Cricket Council (ICC) officially confirmed Dubai as the neutral venue for India’s Champions Trophy matches.

Overall, with excitement building and ticket availability dwindling, fans are scrambling for a chance to witness one of cricket’s fiercest rivalries on the grand stage.
