Sharjah Classic Cars Festival 2025 showcases over 400 vintage cars

The highly anticipated second edition of the Sharjah Classic Cars Festival (SCCF 2025) has officially launched. It brings together automotive enthusiasts, industry experts, and collectors. The festival celebrates classic car heritage and runs until February 17 at the Sharjah Old Cars Club (SOCC) headquarters. Under the theme “Where the Story Begins,” it offers a unique blend of history, entertainment, and education.

Grand Opening Ceremony

The five-day festival was inaugurated with the presence of distinguished officials. Sheikh Mohammed bin Humaid Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Department of Statistics and Community Development in Sharjah; Sheikh Saud bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Director General of the Sharjah Digital Authority; Sheikh Salem bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Director of the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority; His Excellency Ali Salem Al Midfa, Chairman of the Sharjah International Airport Authority; and Dr. Ali Ahmed Abu Al-Zoud, President of SOCC were present. They were joined by prominent automotive experts and enthusiasts from across the region.

As part of the opening ceremony, attendees toured the festival grounds. They explored an extensive lineup of classic automobiles. Two historically significant vehicles were showcased. A 1988 two-door Range Rover Classic owned by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan was on display. A 1988 four-door Range Rover previously owned by the late Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan was also featured. These vehicles reflect the rich automotive legacy of the UAE’s leadership.

A Showcase of Over 400 Rare Classic Cars

This year’s festival features an impressive collection of more than 400 rare classic cars. Some date back to the early 20th century. As one of the region’s most specialized gatherings, SCCF 2025 brings together automobile enthusiasts. They can admire meticulously restored vintage models.

Visitors can enjoy a diverse lineup of expert panel discussions, entertainment activities, interactive competitions, and dedicated food and beverage areas. Additionally, an exclusive classic car auction provides collectors with a rare opportunity. They can bid on unique models and secure exceptional deals.

Panel Discussion: Passion or Business?

A key highlight of the event is the insightful panel discussion, “Passion or Business? The Art of Collecting Classic Cars.” Industry experts Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Jarwan, Mohammed Bin Dakhin Al Matroushi, and Salem Bin Salem Al Suwaidi participated. The session explores the distinction between collecting classic cars as a passion or an investment. It highlights the most sought-after brands and key factors influencing their value.

Instead, it is accessible to all enthusiasts. Discussions also covered valuation techniques, investment strategies, and restoration processes. These methods help maintain a vehicle’s authenticity while enhancing its market worth.

Honoring Partners and Sponsors

During the event, Sheikh Mohammed bin Humaid Al Qasimi and Dr. Ali Ahmed Abu Al-Zoud honored strategic partners and sponsors. These included Arabian Gulf Mechanical Centre – BMW, Emirates Auction, Sharjah Islamic Bank, and the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority.
