The UAE job market appears robust. About 77% of employers plan to recruit for permanent roles in 2025. This trend reflects the country’s strong macroeconomic outlook.

However, employee mobility remains high. Approximately 65% of professionals in the UAE plan to switch jobs in 2025. Key drivers include salary, benefits packages, and career development opportunities.

Embracing Artificial Intelligence (AI)

The integration of AI in workplaces is gaining traction. About 65% of UAE companies recommend adopting AI technologies. Additionally, 79% of employers expect their organizations to enable staff to use AI tools soon.

Salary Growth for UAE Nationals: In 2024, 55% of Emiratis reported no salary changes. Among those who did, increments often exceeded 16%. Most increases were achieved through new roles.

Expectations for 2025: Nearly 72% of UAE nationals expect salary increases. However, 28% anticipate no change. The pace of salary growth for Emiratis was steadier compared to the GCC average (51%). Still, the increments were notably higher.

The Emiratisation program remains a critical priority. About 55% of employers reported they currently employ UAE nationals. This marks an increase from 51% the previous year. Looking ahead, 46% of organizations plan to expand their Emirati workforce in 2025.

UAE Talent Retention and Development

Retention strategies face challenges. Around 67% of UAE nationals plan to change jobs in 2025. This is a substantial rise from 23% in 2024. Lack of learning and development opportunities is a key factor influencing job changes.

“Providing professional training, upskilling, and regular progression reviews is essential,” noted Hays. These initiatives support employee satisfaction and workforce development.
