Dubai has unveiled an innovative drone delivery system, marking a major milestone in smart mobility and advanced logistics.

This groundbreaking service, the first of its kind in the region, leverages drone technology to deliver medicines and parcels across Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO). Initially, six drones are deployed to carry out these operations efficiently.

The Dubai Civil Aviation Authority (DCAA) granted Keeta Drone the first license for drone delivery operations in the city. During a signing ceremony on Tuesday, Keeta Drone was officially named the licensed operator for this transformative program.

The system operates across four key routes in DSO, connecting vital locations like RIT-Dubai and Dubai Digital Park. These routes ensure fast and reliable delivery of essential items such as food, medicines, and parcels.

Keeta Drone has also partnered with prominent institutions, including Fakeeh University Hospital, Americana, and RIT-Dubai. This collaboration aims to broaden the scope of drone technology applications, with plans to include emergency services and high-priority medical deliveries in the near future.

This innovative approach supports Dubai’s vision of becoming a global hub for smart mobility while setting a benchmark for modern logistics.

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, demonstrated the system’s capabilities by placing the first order using the drone delivery platform. A drone successfully transported the package from a launch point to RIT-Dubai, showcasing the network’s efficiency and precision.

Sheikh Hamdan emphasized Dubai’s commitment to advancing its digital economy and supporting the aviation sector. “We prioritize partnerships that drive research, development, and sustainable growth, aligning with the Dubai Economic Agenda D33,” he stated.

The Crown Prince also highlighted the UAE’s decade-long efforts in drone technology, initiated by the UAE Drones for Good Award. “Today, we celebrate a significant milestone, bringing us closer to integrating drones into daily life,” he added.

By launching this initiative, Dubai accelerates its leadership in cutting-edge transportation and smart city solutions. The system not only reduces traffic congestion but also optimizes last-mile logistics, benefiting diverse industries and enhancing urban living standards.
